Budapest Airport to city train

It is possible to get to and from Budapest Airport to the city centre by train within half an hour for a cheap price.

 

Many non-European visitors use an Eurail Hungary Pass to board any train of the Hungarian rail system.

Lines

To go/come back from the Ferihegy train station to/from T2 passengers can take bus 200E (daytime) and bus 900 (nighttime).

200E bus route

Service hours: 04:00 am to 11:00 pm. Route: Budapest Airport Terminal 2 – Kobanya-Kispest metro terminal (line M3) by Ferihegy railway station.

In case passengers wish to get by metro to the city centre, just take M3 metro to Ujpest Kozpont.

 

 

Night bus 900

Service hours: 01:00 am to 04:00 am. Route: Budapest Airport Terminal 2 – South Pest bus garage.

For passengers who wish to transfer to other night bus routes, please note that it is possible to link to bus routes 950 and 950A, which operate in the city centre.

Location

The closest train station to Budapest Airport Terminal 2 is Ferihegy.

Trains departing from Ferihegy operate to and from Nyugati railway station, located in downtown Budapest.

 

 

Fares

Those passengers who wish to take the train from and to the airport, there is a special offer regarding bus ticket. 

 

To get it, please purchase your train ticket at the railway station offices, since the discount on the bus ticket is only available along with it. The ticket cost is HUF 300.00.

 

Please note that the discount is valid between the bus stop at Ferihegy station and Terminal 2 by taking bus routes 200E and 900 (at night).

 

 

Where do I buy my ticket?

Train tickets cannot be purchased at T2.

 

However, to board trains operating between Ferihegy train station and Nyugati railway station, Budapest travel cards are valid, so the 24 and 72-hour, weekly and monthly travel passes for Budapest public transport.

 

Please note that they are available at the Post Office on the mezzanine level of Terminal 2A, which are also valid for these services.

 

MÁV, the Hungarian State Railway Company, operates a domestic ticket office at the Ferihegy train station daily from 06:00 am to 06:00 pm.
